137th F. A. Camp Shelby, 1918

Description: Soldiers are pictured in rows of outdoor tent barracks at Camp Shelby, which was located outside Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Power lines hang above each tent amid scattered trees. Camp Shelby became a training camp in 1917 for World War I troops and was deactivated after the end of the war. Charles Snyder Ernsberger is in the photo, which was taken in February, 1918.
