Description: |
In this view a group of students and faculty from the College of Missions in Indianapolis are dressed in a variety of international costumes. Located in the Irvington area, the College of Missions was a training school that provided instruction for prospective missionaries. The school, located at 222 South Downey Avenue, was constructed from 1907-1910 by the Christian Womens Board of Missions. The school operated there until 1928 when it relocated to Hartford Connecticut. The original nitrate negative was copied with funds provided by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission in 1990. This digital image was created from that copy. The copy prints and negatives are stored in Microfiche Number order. Interpositives are stored in PAN number order. |
