Birds-Eye View, Looking South, South East and South West, Aug. 25, 1913, Indianapolis, Ind.

Description: This view was taken from the roof-top of a building at the north west corner of North Meridian and Vermont Streets. To the left is University Park and east Vermont Street. To the right Vermont Street continues to the west. Straight ahead is Meridian Street as it looks south towards Monument Circle. The roof and cupola in the right foreground is the Frederick Fahnley home at 350 North Meridian Street. It was razed in 1922 to make way for the construction of the Indianapolis Athletic Club. Indianapolis architect Francis Costigan designed the home ca. 1860. Vermont Street is incorrectly labeled New York Street on the negative by the photographer.
The original nitrate negative was copied with funds provided by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission in 1990. This digital image was created from that copy. The copy prints and negatives are stored in Microfiche Number order. The interpositives are stored in PAN number order.
