Group portrait of employees of the Diamond Chain & Manufacturing posed in front of the factory in 1916. The company was formed by Arthur Newby, Edward Fletcher, and Glen Howe in 1890 as the Indianapolis Chain & Stamping Company. In 1899 it became a division of the American Bicycle Company. It was purchased by Lucius M. Wainwright in 1905, renamed the Diamond Chain & Manufacturing Company and was in the family for the next 50 years. It still operates today. |
