Diamond Chain Company, Fourth Floor Employees, 1939

Description: Group portrait of fourth floor employees of the Diamond Chain Company in 1939, including the names of each employee. The company was formed by Arthur Newby, Edward Fletcher and Glen Howe in 1890 as the Indianapolis Chain & Stamping Company. In 1899 it became a division of the American Bicycle Company. It was purchased by Lucius M. Wainwright in 1905, renamed the Diamond Chain & Manufacturing Company and was in the family for the next 50 years. It still operates today.
