Democrat Riot Letter

Description: This letter describes the Battle of Pogues Run. Rumors were circulating of an uprising by anti-war groups at the Democratic convention in Indianapolis. Troops disbanded the convention and several participants were arrested for gun possession. When trains carrying the convention goers were stopped, many threw their weapons into Pogues Run.
