Rebel Shell Bursting in a Union Hospital

Description: The label under the image reads: On the second day of the fight (Corinth) to her horror, her hospital came within range of the enemys artillery and the fearful missiles of death fell with fatal precision among her helpless men.
The battle of Corinth, Mississippi took place Oct. 3-4, 1862.
