During the Civil War Morgan’s raiders entered Ripley County, Indiana in July 1863. They looted Rexville and Versailles, seized weapons, burned bridges, tore up tracks, captured a telegraph operator at Osgood, went on to Milan, and camped overnight at Sunman before fleeing the state.The map illustrates Morgans route through the four states. This item was part of the Indiana History Train 2006 exhibit: Faces of the Civil War. |
