These four letters from Anna Guy to her husband give general information such as local news, family health, and worrying about his safety. The letter of 19 April discusses Lincolns death and how it was observed in Syracuse. James H. Guy was from Kosciusko County, Indiana. In December, 1861, he was drafted into Company I of the 35th Indiana Regiment. He was mustered out in June, 1865, and returned to Kosciusko County. The collection contains additional letters from Mr. Guy to Anna and letters from other individuals to Mr. Guy.. |
