James M. Little diary

Description: A soldier in the 39th Indiana Infantry Regiment, Little writes in his diary from August 27, 1861, through April 28, 1862. He records his activities from the mustering of the regiment to just before its march to Corinth, Mississippi. He includes his account of the Battle of Shiloh (April 6 and 7, 1862) and drawings of the Union defenses at Bowling Green, Kentucky.
