Main Street Scene, Clay City, Indiana

Description: Platted in 1873, Clay City, once known as “The Y”, developed because of its location along the Cincinnati & Terre Haute Railway. The coal industry helped the town to grow and at one time there were five mines on the outskirts of the city.
