1937 flood, Corydon, Indiana, Oak Street

Description: This photo of high water in Corydon, Indiana during the January 1937 flood shows a view of Oak Street in downtown Corydon, Indiana. The view is to the north from the intersection with Chestnut Street. The building in the center of the image is the 1914 Carnegie library building located on West Beaver Street. This building served as the Corydon Public Library for many years and remains a part of the Harrison County Public Library system today as the Frederick Porter Griffin Center for Local History and Genealogy.
