Description: |
This sketch depicts Philip Lopps Mill, which was located on Buck Creek in Heth Township. The mill was destroyed by Confederate General John Hunt Morgans men as they made their way north through Harrison County in July 1863. It is reported that men inside the mill fired their guns on the passing Confederates, who, in retaliation, burned the mill to the ground. |
