Karl Kae Knecht Cartoon

Description: Cartoon depicting events coming up in the next week. Left: A sign states that the Boy Scouts Circus is happening. A podium below the sign says that 4500 scouts from 13 counties will attend and lists the towns included in the local Buffalo Trace Council. A large circus tent at the top of the cartoon represents the Evansville Stadium, which will be the Big Top for the circus. The Old Maid and the Thief theater workshop in Owensboro, depicted as a woman bending down to look at a person hiding under a bed. A home show opens tomorrow at the Armory, represented by a ranch-style house with a well-kept lawn and the words Home Show written on the roof. Tomorrow is Mothers Day, represented by a womans face in profile in the center of a large carnation; two presents sit under the flower. The Supreme Order Forest Woodmen Circle (represented by a tree with a sign hanging on it and a log with an ax stuck in it) and Indiana Society of Medical Technologists and Laboratory Technicians (represented by a woman looking into a microscope surrounded by other laboratory equipment) are in Evansville. A note in the margin of the cartoon says that it is dedicated to Paul Bonham, director of the Boy Scouts Circus, who is depicted leaning around the podium to say that the circus has another performance tonight.
