Description: |
Dave Beck Jr. stands on a stage and holds out sheet music labeled The 5th Amendment. His father, Dave Beck Sr., looks around the edge of the stage and says his son is a chip off the old Beck. On the other side of the stage, an usher changes the sign telling what act is onstage. He removes a sign for The Becks and prepares to replace it with a sign for the Bakers Union. The U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument appear in the stages background. The Senate Investigation Committee sits in the orchestra pit. Head Investigator Senator McClellan slams his hand down on a piano and tells the Becks to git, and that he is going to ask Congress to put them in jail. Senator Robert Kennedy, on drums, says that tune needs new lyrics. Senator Mundt holds his nose closed, as though smelling something bad. Public and Uncle Sam sit in the audience. Uncle Sam says he is tired of the Becks making a parody of his song (the Constitution, and the 5th Amendment in particular); Public agrees and says he is disgusted. The Becks refused to cooperate with the investigation committee by invoking the 5th Amendment, which protects people from self-incrimination. Mundt, Karl E. (Karl Earl), 1900-1974; McClellan, John L.
