We liked those double deck buses in London - Glasgow and Edinburgh similar, in street cars on trolley also. Bright red paint 73 bovil trupence 3 cents eh? stops posted by route numbers. on an auto trip to the Shakespeare country we had a chance to note highways, signs etc. medium not the smallest at their autos. hits a Wolseley sir! a lay by. a wide place - as our roadside - park but no table. red white. iron warning signs along highways. red in curb. all queue up in orderly line to get on bus. conductor reels off receipt for fare save as sometime must show it. glass-buttons that shine center o road in white squares the full length of many roads - as we have some such at curves. a 500 b462 A 405. Not too frequent route - number signs along way - but intersections well marked. keep to nearside lane except when overtaking. ours read drive in right lane expect when passing. slow dangerous bend. Main-major roads are designated A second narrower B practically no shoulders. flowers metal curb. many such where we have few hereabouts. run around ahead. school. hospital etc. the highway paved bicycle riders path. all over most of Europe. taxis of London. thats the road the Germans came over in both World Wars. in Luxembourg just white paint bands on trees or posts mark routes. tarring in. sign of men working on road holes. directional signal pops up. soon used to left side of street driving. open space for luggage. driver glassed in right side. no name but all black same shape many all meter and most reasonable. |
