Karl Kae Knecht Cartoon

Description: Sequel to the March 3, 1955 cartoon. The same two-headed donkey appears in the bottom left corner, standing on a pile of hay which identify it as the candidacy for mayor in May primaries. One head is now smiling, while the other looks surprised. In the top right corner, the elephant is no longer smiling. A second elephant has run in and head-butted the first in the side. The first elephant represents Roberts and the regular local republican organization. The second elephant represents Huber, the candidate of the Good Government League. A copy of the March 3 cartoon, clipped from the newspaper, appears in the top left corner.
Roberts, Henry O., 1897-1986; Hartke, Vance, 1919-2003; Huber, Curtis E., 1916-2005
