No. 45 between Huntingburg and Dale, is a miniature continental divide for standing on this bridge over Short Creek once can see water flowing in both directions. C.L. Ed Collins of New Harmony grew 6 tomatoes on one stem fully ripe - no freaks perfect. Largest was 12 1/2 in circum. From Joyce Kemmerling New Harmony the smallest 9 in. Chris Ziss of the Peoples American Bank Princeton Ind. sends this photo of a 55 year old Papaw (Paw Paw) tree in yard of Ford Homestead there that is 3 ft. 9 in. in circumference. It has never failed to bear fruit, that ripens in August. The late Frank Ford planted it in 1880. It is 20 feet high. Send in your strange and odd facts |
