Karl Kae Knecht Cartoon

Description: Cartoon warning against pranks and vandalism committed at Halloween. A police officer, a group of children, and an adult couple stand on the front porch of a house. The police officer scolds the adults for not keeping better track of their children. A group of people stands on the sidewalk in front of the house telling a second police officer about all the damage the children have caused. A man sitting in a car parked at the curb points to his windshield, which has been soaped. At the bottom of the cartoon is a reminder that Halloween is one night only. Knechts elephant tells children to have fun on Halloween, but to stick to trick-or-treating.

You are their parents! You have plenty of time to advise them. You should know where they go. Its ruined. Smeared it so we cant clean off. Carried it away. Broke it beyond repair. Smashed it! We cant replace it. Broke in--. And look--of all fool dangerous stunts--soaping my auto windows until I cant see out to drive. Back or sideways to see other autos. Halloween is not until October 31st. One night--Wednesday. Have fun--stick to Trick or Treats. [in margins: Who Us. (illegible). Halloween 9 days off. Wednesday October 31.
