William S. Herron, the well known harness maker, died, an old copper penny from England, a Siamese peanut, an M shaped Elm branch, a knot tied by a Wisteria vine, and a 21 inch long hornets nest. He said it is the only twin peanut he ever found in his handling 1,800,000 in 15 years. A perfect M in an elm branch. 3 ft. across. Found by Ross Myer 506 E. Chandler - Evansville Well Worn down Face side Britania on this Of 1776 or earlier An old copper - England penny of King George-The Third, time. Found by Carl Jamison while digging on Chas. Epperson Farm between Haubstadt and Cynthiana. Most likely brought out on the George Rogers Clark Expedition. A knot tied by a 2 3/4 wisteria vine as it grew from Paul D. Gray Otwell Ind. A 21 inch long hornets nest found on farm of Louis Knollman RFD. 3 Wadesville Ind. was in tree 32 feet from ground. Wm S. Herron who died recently in Grandview Id. was a well known harness maker of the Tri State. Born in England 1844. Took 38 days to cross Atlantic Ocean in 1853 in sailing vessel. Held some longtime record - as: member I.O.O. F. Lodge for 68 years. 59 years in harness business, - 50 years in same building. Resident Grandview for 65 years. 56 years member M.E. Church.
