Description: |
Neighbors discuss what they will do with the leaves that have fallen into their yards this year. One man says he puts them in bins for a year or two to make leaf-mold, which is good fertilizer. Another man says he buries them to make leaf-mold because he doesnt have room for bins. Burning leaves produces smoke which is bad for people with sinus and throat problems. Image Access WideTEK 25 What you guys doing with your leaves? I dig a hole and bury our leaves to make leaf-mold. I dont have room in yard for bins like our neighbor here. The law says no burning such except in mornings, remember. Sure neighbor the government spends millions to rebuild well depleted soil. So we put our leaves in bins or bury them and let them rot for a season or two then put the leaf-mold on lawn, flower bed, or garden. Leaf-mold is a great plant food. Dont fill air with smoke and add to smog of coal smoke so hard on sinus afflicted and like head and throat sufferers. This Year. Last Year. A sifter to make leaf-mold cleaner when ready to use. Ive learned that from experience eh! C.B. saves city also of picking them up and hauling them away. |
