School Bell - Donated to the War Effort, World War II

Description: The bell, removed from the belfry of a school or fire station, was donated as scrap metal during World War II. Bell created by G. W. Coffin & Company and the Buckeye Bell Foundry.
Original description assigned the bell to Washington Elementary School, based on articles the bell might have belonged to Central Fire Station. More information about this image can be found in the Greene, Richard A. Our Neighborhood Articles collection.
