The bond, dated September 1, 1813, was executed and delivered in the presence of Charles Parish. The notification of deposition states that between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on an unnamed day in September 1813 Joshua Bond would proceed to take the depositions of Henry McGee and William G. Buckler. Attorney John Johnson signed the notification, which went to court clerk Robert Buntin. A note at the bottom of the notification states that Bond must get one of the judges to sign the dedimus. The complaint states that Joseph Bond, by his attorney John Johnson, complained of the defendant that in July 1813, Brown became indebted for $200 in wares and merchandise. The defendant had promised to fully repay the debt. The complaint also notes that the defendant became indebted for another $200 for meat, drink, lodging, and other necessities. The complaint further states that Joseph Brown became indebted for another $200 which the plaintiff had loaned and advanced the defendant. The plaintiff also said that he stabled and attended to a gelding horse for the defendant. A plea by the defendant on page 4 of the complaint states that Brown did not assume the debts that the plaintiff had indicated. The plea is signed by the defendants attorney Alexander Buckler. Another note on the complaint relates that the jury found for the plaintiff $85 and was signed by jury foreman George Catte. In the first deposition, dated September 1, 1813. William G. Buckler declared that L. Gregg was to pay the plaintiff $80 for Brown. Buckler also related that the boarding of Brown was not included in this amount. This deposition was signed by Buckler and witnessed by Justice of the Peace Elihu Stout. In the second deposition, dated September 1, 1813, James S. Petty and Ambrose Coleman swore that Joseph Browns boarding with the plaintiff totaled $60. This deposition was also signed by Stout. The first subpoena called for the sheriff of Knox County to bring Ambroise Coleman, James Westfall, James S. Petty, and William G. Buckler before the judges of the Circuit Court on the second Monday of May 1815 and give evidence for the plaintiff. This subpoena, dated April 27, 1815, was witnessed and signed by court clerk Robert Buntin and executed by deputy sheriff Henry J. Mills at a cost of $2.09. The second subpoena called for the sheriff of Knox County to bring Henry McGee before the judges of the Circuit Court on the first Monday of March 1815 to give evidence for the plaintiff. This subpoena, dated February 27, 1815, was witnessed and signed by court clerk Robert Buntin and executed by sheriff Benjamin V. Beckes at a cost of $.46 cents. The third subpoena called for Ambrose Coleman, James Westfall, James S. Petty, and William Buckler to appear in the Circuit Court on the first Monday of March 1815 and give evidence for the plaintiff. This subpoena, dated February 17, 1815, was witnessed and signed by court clerk Robert Buntin and executed by sheriff Benjamin V. Beckes at a cost of $1.44. The dedimus, dated February 3, 1814, called for any justice of the peace from Knox County to examine Henry McGee and William G. Buckler on behalf of Joshua bond. The case was to be held on the second Monday of May 1814 in the Circuit Court. The dedimus was signed by court clerk Robert Buntin. A note on the verso of the dedimus related that it was allowed by Abraham Westfall on April 6, 1814. The fourth subpoena called for Henry McGee to appear before the judges of the Circuit Court on the first Monday of June 1815 to give evidence for the plaintiff. This subpoena, dated May 24, 1815, was witnessed and signed by court clerk Robert Buntin. A note on the verso of this subpoena states that the plaintiffs attorney John Johnson directed sheriff Benjamin V. Beckes not to summons McGee. The fifth subpoena called for the sheriff of Knox County to bring Ambrose Coleman, James Westfall, James S. Petty, and William G. Buckler before the judges of the Circuit Court on the first Monday of June 1815 to give evidence for the plaintiff. This subpoena, dated May 24, 1815, was witnessed and signed by court clerk Robert Buntin. A note on the verso of this subpoena said that the plaintiffs attorney John Johnson directed sheriff Beckes not to execute the subpoena. The sixth subpoena called for Ambrose Coleman, James Westfall and James S. Petty to come before the judges of the Knox County Circuit Court and give evidence on behalf of the plaintiff on the first Monday of October 1816. This subpoena, dated July 1, 1916 was witnessed and signed by court clerk Robert Buntin and executed by Sheriff Benjamin V. Beckes at a cost of $1.20.
