Description: The file contains one document a Summons for James Price, Benjamin Price and Lelay McCandless to appear in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas to answer to William Jones and Toussaint Dubois, Jr. the assignees of General W. Johnston. The Summons was issued on February 26, 1812. James Price, Benjamin Price and Lelay McCandless executors in their own wrong of John McCandless deceased. They were to appear in court to answer unto William Jones and Toussaint Dubois assignees of General W. Johnston of a plea that they render unto them one hundred and four dollars debt which they detained from them and damages of fifty dollars. The Summons was executed on Ben Price and James Price, Lelay McCandless not in country. The Summons was served by John I. Neely, D. Shff, K.C. with a serving fee of $2.29. According to the Minute Book of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas 1811 -1817, page 46: During the March Term 1812: Daniel Price appeared in open court and entered himself as special bail for the Defendants.
