Chiles, Elizabeth, exec. of John Chiles for use of John Brazelton vs Abraham Westfall and James Bray

Description:	A summons is issued for Abraham Westfall and James Bray. They are to appear the last Monday of July 1808. and answer unto Elizabeth Chiles. executrix of John Chiles, deceased in a plea of debt. She asks that Abraham Westfall and James Bray pay her $48.33 1/3 and $200 damages. Signed R. Buntin, Clerk, May 2, 1808. Bail is required with the cost of court being $1.45. Samuel Hayes executed the summons on Abraham Westfall but James Bray was not found. A complaint is filed by Elizabeth Chiles, executrix of John Chiles, during the July 1808 term. She complains of Abraham Westfall and James Bray that they owe to her the sum of 14 pounds, and ten shillings which equals to $48.33 1/3 currency of the U. S. They have owed the debt from the 13th day of September 1786 and it was due the 1st of March next. Elizabeth Chiles produces letters of testamentary to prove she is executrix of the will and places General W. Johnston as her attorney. A bond is filed for Abraham Westfall and Michel Thorn who bound themselves unto Parmenas Beckes for $100 on May 23, 1808. Westfall is to appear in court the last Monday of July next to pay $48.33 1/3 plus $200 in damages. The bond is signed by Abraham Westfall and Michel Thorn and witnessed by Reuben Anderson. A summons for 2 justices in Mercer Co .Ky to hear and witness the testimony on behalf of Abraham Westfall and John Bray and to present. The are to bring the evidence before the court. The summons is filed and witnessed by Robert Buntin, Clerk on September 20, 1808. A cost of court bill is filled for $49.35 1/2. An amended cost of court bill is filed for $13.89 on November 29, 1808.
