The charges are witnessed by Robert Buntin, Clerk C.P.K.C. on March 6,1806. A summons is issued for Pierre Grimare requesting him to appear before the court on Friday, March 20, 1807 to give evidence on behalf of Auguste Tougas on the suit of Laurent Bazadone, assignee. A $100 penalty will be charges if he fails to appear. The summons is signed March 19, 1807 by R. Buntin C.P.K.C. and executed by B. Beckes, Sheriff with charges of $1.46 1/2. A summons to take Joseph Tougas dit Lavoilette to court the last Monday, in July 1806 to answer unto Laurent Bazadone assignee of Francois Michel in a plea of trespass for breaking a covenant with damages of $800 is filed. The summons is signed by R. Buntin and dated April 23, 1806. The sheriffs cost for executing the summons is $7.90. A statement by G. W. Johnston, attorney for the plaintiff states that bail is required for the sum of $330.66 2/3 for a broken covenant. A recognizance bond is filed for Joseph Tougas dit Lavoilette and Thomas Jones for the full sum of $330 and is filed May 3, 1806. Joseph Tougas is to appear before the court the last Monday, July 1806 in a plea of trespass for beach of covenant. The bond is signed by A. Prince, Joseph Tougas and Thomas Jones, Sr. A deposition is filed by John R. Jones attorney for the defendant. He states that Joseph did not break the covenant and he further states that he paid the said Francis Michel during the month of March 1802. He states that he paid the sum of money in the said note mentioned and he can verify that the debt is paid. Laurent by his attorney says that Joseph did not paid the sum mentioned in March 1802 or at any other time. Therefore he asks for payment and damages. signed by Johnston P. Q.
