James Thorn vs Samuel R. Snyder, administrator of John Knox

Description: A promissory note dated July 10,1829 and signed by John Knox for $10.50 due to James Thorn. A notation on back states that J. Thorn received a $3.50 payment on January 20, 1835. The note was filed August 10, 1842 by Wm. R. McCord, Clerk. A receipt dated August 19, 1838 showing where James Thorn paid $7.96 1/2 in full judgement in favor of John Krutz against John Knox in which Thorn paid bail in replevin. The document was signed by Martin Robinson, Justice of the Peace. A receipt dated January 10, 1858 for $5.55 showing where James Thorne paid in full as a executor in the case in favor of John Krutz against John Knox, in the judgement ordered from the office of Martin Robinson, Justice of the Peace and signed by Elijah Thorne, Knox County Clerk. Testimony by Elijah Thorn where he states he received payment as constable on January 10, 1838 in the amount of $5.55 for John Krutz. He swears that John Knox did ask the funds from James Thorn in his presence. The statement was given before Martin Robinson, Justice of the Peace on January 20, 1842. A promissory note of $19.18 3/4 dated April 28, 1838 and signed by James Thorne, David Wilson and James Cook. The note states that the funds are due to Samuel Snyder, administrator of John Knox in 12 months. A promissory note dated August 27, 1831 for $7.25 payable to Phebe Thomas, administrator of Jesse Thomas and due within 18 months was signed by James Thorne and Jacob Wilmore. A notation on back shows that a $5 payment was made on October 12, 1833 by James Thorne. An account receipt showing the amounts the estate of John Knox owes to James Thorn on a promissory note dated April 28, 1838 in the amount of $19.18 with interest making the total of the bill $23.01. A $6 receipt of account records that John Knoxs estate owes to James Thorn dated May 7, 1834. David Wilson testifies before J. Hiland on January 29, 1842 that he paid the $6 that was owed to James Thorn by the estate of John Knox on May 7, 1834. A statement showing various payments made to James Thorne by the estate of John Knox in the amount of $34.97.
