Lesley, Nancy vs. John Reed

Description:	Civil court case in which Nancy Lesley was suing John Reed for $16.00 damages. Lesley, who in documents is called a hirelen ( hireling ) and spinster, sued Reed for work performed in 1802. Judge Pierre Gamelin found for the plaintiff for $9.00 damages and $2.58 for costs with a stay of payment due for 3 months. The verdict was appealed by Reed in the suit Reed, John vs. Nancy Lesley.
