Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Remus Okey, dated March 27, 1881. Remus enlisted on August 1, 1862 as Private in Company E 70th Regiment of the Indiana Infantry and was discharged on June 8, 1865. Remus application was recommended by Philip Andrews. Investigating Committee members were W.H. Manning, J.H. Henderson, and Albert Gray (illegible). Applicant Elected April 21, 18?1 and Mustered May 19, 18??. Number on Des. Book and Adjutant information omitted. William H. Armstrong, Post Commander.
