Austin Murphy GAR application

Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Austin Murphy, dated April 22, 1880. Austin first enlisted on October 2, 1861 as a Private in Company H 43rd Regiment of the Indiana Infantry Volunteers and was transferred on November 3, 1862 to Company C Indiana Battery 18th U.S. Infantry. Austin re-enlisted on November 3, 1862 as a Private in Company C Indiana Battery 18th U.S. Infantry and was discharged on November 3, 1865. Austins application was recommended by John A. Bryan. Examining Committee members were C.A. Power and Jeremiah Voris. Applicant Elected, Mustered, Number on Des. Book, Adjutant, and Post Commander information omitted.
