This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Asa B. Fitch, dated April 7, 1884. Asa first enlisted on October 30, 1861 as a Private in Company H 4th Regiment of the Iowa Cavalry Volunteers and was discharged (date omitted). Asa re-enlisted in December 1863 as a 1st Lieutenant in Company H 4th Regiment of the Iowa Cavalry Volunteers and was discharged as a Captain on August 8, 1865. Asas application was recommended by J.E. Voorhees. Examining Committee members were William H. Armstrong, J.F. Murphy, and Hamilton Elliott. Applicant Elected May 1, 1884.
