Description:	This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Samuel M. Crandall, dated August 6, 1879. Samuel first enlisted on August 10, 1862 as a 1st Lieutenant in Company G 8th Regiment of the Kentucky Cavalry Volunteers and was discharged on September 23, 1863. Samuel re-enlisted on October 28, 1863 as a Captain in Company G 13th Regiment of the Kentucky Cavalry Volunteers and was discharged on January 10, 1865. Samuels application was recommended by C.A. Powers. Examining Committee members were William H. Armstrong, L. Burget, and J.W. Haley. Applicant Elected, Mustered, Number on Des. Book, Adjutant, and Post Commander information omitted.
