Description:	This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of John E. Bickel, dated August 17, 1893. John first enlisted on November 1, 1861 as a Sergeant in Company B 59th Regiment of Indiana and was discharged on December 3, 1863. John re-enlisted on February 15, 1864 as a Private in Company C 11th Regiment of Indiana and was discharged on May 12, 1865. Johns application was recommended by Soloman R. Meader. Examining Committee members were S. C. Harrison, David Denny, and William H. Post. Applicant Elected and Mustered August 17, 1893. No. on Des. Book: 400. J. J. Anderson, Adjutant; McCluskey, Post Commander.
