This is the Grand Army of the Republic of John Beley, date omitted. John first enlisted on June 11, 1861 as a Private in Company G, 22nd Regiment of the Illinois Infantry and was discharged on December 31, 1863. John re-enlisted on January 1, 1864 as a Private in Company G, 42nd Regiment of the Illinois Infantry and was discharged on June 22, 1865. John re-enlisted again on March 27, 1867 in the 14th VRC (i.e. Veteran Reserve Corps) and was discharged on August 3, 1869. Johns application was recommended by Henry A. Byers. Examining Committee members were James Merriman, J. H. Henderson, and William C. Armstrong. Applicant Elected, Mustered, Number on Des. Book, Adjutant, and Post Commander information omitted. |
