Description: A daguerreotype housed in a small, ornately carved wooden case that was stained black. The outside has small gold decoration around its border and a rusted set of hinges made from brass hold it together. The inside of the case has a brass plated frame with gold leaf designs on the borders. he portrait is of an unknown woman of the Civil War era. She is in a black dress with a white collar and is pictured seated. There is a broach at her neck and a metal buckle on her waist.
