Description: A daguerreotype housed in an ornately carved wooden case. The case is held together by small brass hinges and the outside has been stained black. The image is a portrait of an unknown woman of the Civil War era. She is wearing a dark colored hoop dress with a light floral pattern throughout. Her sleeves are laced up with white ribbon and her belt has a silver buckle. She has a white collar with a broach at the neck. Next to her is a very intricately carved wooden chair with a luxury cushion. The image is surrounded by a frame that is plated in brass and features flowers and leaves in its patterns.
