Florodora bisque shoulder and head doll

Description:	This is a bisque head and shoulder doll manufactured by Armand Marseille in Germany. The body is leather with jointed composition arms. The eyes are blue sleep type. The hair brown human hair and the eyelashes are also brown human hair. The hair is braided. The mouth is open with teeth. The clothing is a regional outfit under a black coat. The costume is a peasant style. The dark overcoat is made from file material with a cotton lining. The costume also has an apron, full dress, black bolero jacket, knee high stockings and white shoes. The doll also has a petticoat and bloomers. The doll is in good condition and stands 19 inches (48.26 cm) tall. •aThe doll was donated by Mrs. Myrl Clark. This Florodora doll was given to the donor in 1906 as a Christmas present. The dolls hair and eyelashes are from the donors first bob and made into a wig by the donors mother. The dolls clothing was made by the donors mother (Bernice Eckenroad). The arms and hands are not original but are old. The dolls name is Jessie. The name was given to the doll after the donor attended a wedding when she was six and the brides name was Jessie. She thought the name was so beautiful that she named her doll the same.
