Description: |
View of the Sherman building on the west side of the town square in Sullivan, Indiana. The original building was erected in 1884, and was later destroyed by fire. After being rebuilt, the building housed a movie theater that opened on March 1, 1916 and closed in the early 1980s. In 1986 it was renovated to include a restaurant and third floor offices. The restaurant became a dinner theater, and underwent further renovations in 1995-1996. The building has housed the Cross Roads Community Church since 1998. This photograph includes several automobiles parked in front of the theater, and was taken when the building was a movie theater, ca. 1976. |
