Description: |
This is a color photograph of the Jackson Covered Bridge being reset on its abutment during restoration. The view is from the south end east side. Visible is the stone abutment on the south end set into the bank of Sugar Creek as well as the builder stone with the date 1861 and Joseph J. Daniels name. Construction equipment has lifted the bridge back into position. A series of wooden pallets and metal framework rests underneath the bridge for support. The siding has not yet been replaced so the interior framework can be seen. This item was donated by Charles Davis. |
