This is a color photograph of what was once the Coloma school in Coloma, Reserve Township, Parke County, Indiana. Miss Orpha Hobson, a graduate of Bloomingdale Academy, was one of the schools teachers. The building was the first house in Coloma. The wooden frame structure has a roof with three visible gables, a front porch and a yard enclosed by a white picket fence. An outbuilding is seen in the rear and across the street is a mailbox on a post. It is located across the street from the Coloma Friends Church and was once the home of Lawrence Woodard. This item was donated by Charles Davis. |
