This is a tintype of Albert Jackson Thomas of Parke County, Indiana in his Civil War uniform. Albert (1829-1911) was born in Parke County the son of Lewis and Mary Duree Thomas. He married first Sarah Moore daughter of Joseph C. and Sarah Tigue Moore on 1855-09-15. His second wife who he married on 1872-09-25 was Cynthia, daughter of John M. and Euphony Martin Harney. He served in Co. B 33rd Iowa and later in Co. A 1st Batt. Cavalry. He is buried in Martin Cemetery in Parke County. This item was donated by the family of Pauline McKinney. |
