Description: |
In this letter dated May 6, 1929, Mrs. Rose Figg responds to a telegram she received from Tony Gisolo, Margarets brother, which stated Margaret would join the baseball club. The letter also addresses a request in increase in pay for Margaret. Mrs. Figg sounds doubtful to whether or not Margaret would end up being a drawing card for her team but increases Margarets salary to 85 dollars a month. She also asks for a photograph of Margaret as well as any newspaper articles the family might have. The enclosed contract quotes Margarets salary at 85 dollars a month plus her room, board, and transportation costs. It also states that the club will furnish a full uniform for her but Margaret will have to furnish her own baseball bat, shoes, glove, and sweater. The contract is signed at the bottom by Margaret and Rose Figg. |
