Description: Folder 8563 in Box 169 of Knox County Circuit Court records at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House contains four documents in the case of State of Indiana vs. George P. Morris. This case is a continuance of the one in folder 8550 where George P. Morris, a man of color, was accused of grand larceny. This folder contains the affidavit filed by James Delany, Black, and his statement that on the night of March 11, 1860 Morris entered the house of Delany and carried away personal goods. Also in this folder is the arrest warrant for Morris and the summons for Martha Delany, Black, and P. Case to appear in front of the Justice of the Peace on behalf of the state. There is no jury finding in the folder.
