Knox County court record for James P. Martin vs. William Howard, 1848

Description: Folder 6724 in Box 125 of Knox County Circuit Court records at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House contains two documents in the case of James Martin vs. William Howard, 1848. James Martin, Administrator of David Phillips estate had previously be awarded the debt owed him by William Howard, a man of color. Martin had not received payment so he filed another claim asking the court to follow through and execute claim from Howard’s property. The two documents in the file are the second filing and a list of expenses Martin had accrued with his suits. There is no information as to the conclusion of this case.
