Description: Folder 2443 in Box 42 of Knox County Circuit Court records at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House holds one document in the case of Jackson vs. Tisdale. This single document is the decision by the Indiana Supreme Court that granted Francis (Mulee) Jackson his freedom from slavery. On Tuesday, May 8, 1821 Jackson was discharged from the custody of Francois Tisdale by the Supreme using Polly vs. LaSalle as a precedent.
