Knox County court record for US vs. Dubois, 1814

Description: Folder 1568 in Box 25 of Knox County Circuit Court records at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House holds five documents in the case of US vs. Jack (John) Dubois. Jack Dubois, a man of color was charged with the theft of one cast iron kettle valued at eight dollars from Samuel Emmerson. The jury found Mr. Dubois not guilty. Of the six documents, two are summonses, two are recognizance bonds, and there is an indictment.
