The probate record for William Hathaway, 1810 is in Box 3 of the probate records archive at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. A document showed that a Dr. James Wardlow had hired a negro man Galloway to Hathaway for a year of service. Since Hathaway died before the year was ended, Wardlow paid himself for the time Galloway had served him and returned the remaining money to the estate. |
