Description: Folder 1353 in Box 21 of Knox County Circuit Court records at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House holds 9 documents in the 1812 case of United States vs Nicholas Villimere. Villimere was accused of harboring “for the space of one day or more” Nance, a servant of Robert Buntin. According to the indictment, this was done” to the great injury of the said Robert Buntin in contempt of the statue of this territory in such case made and provided to the evil example of other delinquents in the like case and against the peace and dignity of the United States.” In addition to this document, there are 7 summonses or subpoenas and one bond.
