Knox County probate record for Christmas Delisle, 1846

Description:	A folder containing probate records for Christmas Delisle is housed in the Probate Records section, Box 42, at the Knox County (IN) Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House. A press-printed bond dated November 13, 1846 names Gabriel Foreman as administrator. Clippings from the Vincennes Gazette dated November 19, 1846 include an administrator’s notice supposing the estate to be solvent and a notice of administrator’s sale with a lot of livestock and fowl to take place at the residence of the deceased at the Fort Knox Farm. Also in the file are administrator’s accounts, affidavits and an inventory with accompanying bill of sale. While there is no mention of a widow, three receipts show distributions of parts of the estate to a William Delisle, Charles Delisle, and a third Delisle whose first name is illegible. Not pictured are several bills, receipts and promissory notes.
