Knox County probate record for James Banks, 1834

Description: A folder of probate records for James Banks is housed in Box 17 of the Knox County probate records section at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady Brockman House. This folder contains a document filed January 16, 1834 in which Banks’ widow (Rebecca) renounces her administration of the estate, letting Isaac Coons take over. There’s also a newspaper announcement appealing to creditors of the insolvent estate. There’s also a list of debts and credits as well as inventory of he estate and accompanying bill of sale for those items.
